In the summer of 2009 I worked with Michael Vigil, a Master Printer in Taos, making copper plates using a variety of techniques including:
sugar lift, Z acryl, and soft ground, all incorporating an aquatint. Color aquatint yeilds a luminous color since, when the image is transferred
from the plate to paper, the white of the paper glows around each miniscule pit of colored ink. In the fall I printed these plates in
several series of monotypes which are unique prints involving a matrix. It is an ongoing series.
The Tesserae prints are an ongoing series using fragments of etchings. The monotypes are four of dozens, ongoing.
